  Worship. Connection. Conversation. Fun!

Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. Mary’s,

The Bishop of Chicago has sent a new directive to all clergy and churches in our Diocese.

Effective immediately all of the churches in the Diocese of Chicago, including St. Mary’s, are closed. There are no worship services until further notice.

There will be no gatherings; this includes all meetings, chair yoga, bible studies, Lenten studies, and all church related events such as our community meal.  Please see the letter from Bishop Jeffery D. Lee, Diocesan Bishop of Chicago. This directive is being sent in an effort to help curb COVID-19, the disease that causes coronavirus, and to protect the most vulnerable among us.

The AA groups are allowed to continue to meet in Tarpley House, and St. Mary’s will still be a Polling place on Tuesday, March 17.

I will be checking phone messages and emails, and be available for pastoral care emergencies and pastoral conversations.   For the most part, the offices are closed.  This is a time for us to use the strength of our community to come together and reach out to each other and to check on each other. We will post updates as they become available.

Let us remain steadfast in our faith and in prayer.

The Rev. Fran Holliday
